What is First Mile?

The process of transporting goods from the seller/retailer/production house to the courier company (Logistics Service Point) or company’s hub (Distribution Centre) is referred to as First Mile.

For instance, if an e-commerce or any other company ships their products via any courier company, then the first mile would be the transportation of goods from the e-commerce company’s warehouse to the courier company’s warehouse.

It involves many processes - including handling, storage, and transportation - that require efficient and coordinated logistics.
