The middle mile involves transportation of goods from one hub to another, a warehouse to the distribution centers or retail outlets, and other facilities.
Origin Hub
- When the consignments are brought to the origin hub, after the completion of the first mile processes, they get processed for the middle mile processes.
- We first do the in scanning of the consignments, verify the consignments and then create a bag for these consignments.
- Meanwhile, we do the gate in of the vehicle for the middle mile trip and assign a dock to it.
- We create a trip, assign a vehicle, and complete the loading of the consignments.
- Later, the trip departs, and the vehicle is docked out scanned, and gated out from the origin hub.
Destination Hub
- When this vehicle reaches the destination hub, it is gated in and assigned a dock.
- The dock in scanning happens, and the trip is marked as received.
- The unloading of the consignments happens, the waybills are scanned, and an exception is applied if required.
- After the successful unloading of the vehicle, the trip is marked as close.
- The bags are debagged and the consignments are taken for the last mile processes.
