# How to add Address Hierarchy

In the dashboard :

* Click on the hamburger menu () → Setup → **Address Hierarchy**

* Go to **Address Hierarchy** → **Address Config**![image.png](/kb-images/how-to-add-address-hierarchy--vrhcpenq/img_004_ff68418c73.png)
* On the Left Hand Side, you can see **Pincode,Zone,City,State.**

  * The hierarchies for them will be -

    * Different Cities can fall under a state.
    * Different Zones can be present under a city.
    * Different Pin Codes can fall under one zone.
    * Advisable to Add New Config according to this order.

  * Fill up the form and click on the **Add State** button.![image.png](/kb-images/how-to-add-address-hierarchy--vrhcpenq/img_006_912a3fafc0.png)
  * You’ve successfully added a state.
  * Follow the above steps for Cities,Zones and Pin codes.
  * `Method 2` - **Upload CSV** option → A file upload window appears.![image.png](/kb-images/how-to-add-address-hierarchy--vrhcpenq/img_007_865b1a0f76.png)
  * You can download a sample Excel file to understand what data has to be entered by clicking on the **Download Sample Excel** option from the window.![image.png](/kb-images/how-to-add-address-hierarchy--vrhcpenq/img_008_34c9cc1a7c.png)
  * Click on **Select From Computer** to upload your Excel sheet.
  * One can also drag and drop your file into the space provided in the window.
  * Click on the **Upload** button.
  * You’ve successfully added a state in Address Hierarchy.
  * Follow the above steps for Cities,Zones and Pin codes.
