# How to add a new message template?

In the dashboard :

* Click on the Hamburger Menu () → Setup → SMS Management () → Message Setup

* The form with the following required fields comes up:

  * 1. Message Medium : The mode through which the message is to be sent.
  * 2. Message Type : The status at which the message has to be triggered via its medium.
  * 3. Template : The message template, add the message here.
  * 4. Tags : Tags are those data elements that shall be fetched from the metadata for an org.

  * Once filled, click on **OK**.![image.png](/kb-images/how-to-add-a-new-message-template--1wj8pwem/img_008_3c03088795.png)
  * It shows a success window, click on **OK**.
  * The message template has been created.
